Othello Meze Restaurant

Just behind the Lala Pasa Mosque (St. Nicholas Cathedral), this friendly restaurant serves an enormous spread of mezes, each very different from one another and each equally delicious. Of course the staple mezes like humus and cacik (the classic yoghurt and cucumber dish), but also local delicacies like pickled caper leaves, which are a must-try!
The little plates of cold starters keep being brought to your table regularly and you have lost count of the number of plates which have already come when the hot mezes start being brought out. Grilled halloumi, stuffed pastries, it seems endless. And then the meats are brought in regular succession, kebabs, succulent şeftali (typical Cypriots sausages), chops...
The service is excellent, you are never left waiting, nor are you made to feel rushed and the waiters take the time to explain the dishes and ask whether you are ready to continue. Very popular with the locals who enjoy the dance and musical evenings at weekends. A very pleasant venue to taste typical local specialities, right in the heart of the historical old town. Prices are very reasonable.
