Şato Bistro

With its sunny orange and yellow chairs outside, Şato Bistro, (pronounced château!), is easy to spot in the pedestrian shopping street that leads from the Land/Ravelin Gate to the central square. Yücel has worked in Europe and welcomes you cheerfully to his little restaurant where he cooks everything from scratch. The menu includes many bistro favourites like chicken shish, lamb chops and cod fillet but also some lovely homemade dishes like creamy moussaka or a rich lasagna. One of the signature dishes is mini stuffed chicken fillets, breaded and lightly fried, served with chips, rice and salad. But if you are just looking for a light snack the salads are delicious and freshly prepared, or you could try a homemade soup of the day.
Prices are definitely in the budget range which is excellent value for money as the portions are very generous. It also is ideally situated for people-watching so you can sit and relax as you watch the passers-by. There is even a little courtyard at the back where you can sit outside in the shade.
