Ferda's Coffee Lounge

This lovely café is located just round the corner from Robert's Coffee on Salamis Road. Ferda's Coffee Lounge is well-known for its delicious cakes and desserts, not only cookies and cupcakes but sweet delights from farther afield - banoffee pie, flapjacks, cinnamon buns and English tea. Ferda was a chef in the UK where she and Ali spent 3 decades before returning to Cyprus to run the café, as what started as a family hobby. Now the café is a thriving affair and a favourite student haunt, and the menu has extended to include a range of freshly-prepared wraps and sandwiches, pizzas and salads. It must also be said, the portions are copious!

Ali and Ferda are proud to say that everything is made daily to order with no canned or bottled ingredients and no preservatives. The café is light with a huge ceiling and the blue and white colour scheme is very relaxing. The quirky décor shows their upcycling skills as blue-painted cupboard drawers hang on the walls as shelves, chairs have been reseated with material from a pair of jeans, and a lovely touch - graduation photos of "their" students have their own place on the wall. Unique in Famagusta.
